[angle of scanning cuts of top line] [illegible] - I do not know when she [illegible] to be sick, but her face is like a pale person.

Mrs. M[illegible] and Lizzie Phelps were in Richmond today, first from Old Point, where they had been "to pass E[illegible]'s 30th birthday with him" - Imagine one [illegible] when one [illegible] mid-[illegible] Bert's to see [illegible], to find Father's old wife kissing and laughing as if they were her bosom friends instead of two [strikethrough] being the friends of our sainted Mother! It made Archer right sick.

Oh! It is more awful each day!

Sally Archer is having a pleasant time in Charleston - she was given the most prominent position at the wedding, going in with Mr. K[illegible]'s sister in advance of the others and having the most prominent place. Her dress was beautiful.

She may stay for Anna's wedding, unless it clashes with Anna Anderson's.
